Thomas Cox
Garvan Institute of Medical Research, NSW, Australia

Thomas currently leads the Matrix and Metastasis Lab at the Garvan Institute of Medical Researching Sydney. The lab focuses on how the extracellular matrix regulates resident cell behaviour and specifically how it contributes to cancer progression, metastasis and response to therapy. Recent work has focussed on developing new techniques to image and catalogue the fibrotic matrix of tumours as well as the systemic role of matrix remodelling in metastatic dissemination. The aim of Thomas’ group is to establish targeting of the cancer matrix as a viable therapeutic approach in the treatment of solid cancers
